Chemistry industry companies are stewards of their products.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of shipments of hazardous materials make their way across Canada to meet the needs of manufacturers and consumers. Their routes can take them through cities, towns, rural areas, along highways and even through neighbourhoods.
The safe transportation of chemical products is a key area of focus for the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada. Responsible Care® adherents engage with business partners to ensure the stewardship and security of their products, services and raw materials throughout their life cycles. They are also accountable to the public, especially local communities, who have the right to understand the risks and benefits of what companies do.
A dedicated membership category for Responsible Care® Partners includes trucking companies who commit themselves to the ethic and principles of Responsible Care.
The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada works with a number of stakeholders to prepare emergency response action plans in the event of a transportation incident.
In this section of our website, you'll find information about our work to continually improve transportation safety.
