Chemistry & Health

Ensuring the health and safety of Canadians who use or are exposed to chemical products is of paramount importance to companies adhering to Responsible Care®. In fact, the principles of Responsible Care compel adherents to "work for the improvement of people's lives and the environment, while striving to do no harm." Companies are also compelled to "take preventative action to protect health and the environment" and to "innovate for safer products and processes that conserve resources and provide enhanced value."

The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada works with governments (through the Chemical Management Plan, for example) to meet and exceed the letter and spirit of the law. The Association also promotes sound science and risk-based decision making as ways to improve the health and safety of Canadians.

In this section, you'll find information about our Association's efforts on health matters.
